“Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.” (Proverbs 9:6) Never before has darkness abounded so much in the church world as it does today.  The impression created by the mass of Christianity is that the church is conquering hearts and souls for God like never before.  But upon closer examination most people who claim to follow Christ are being conquered rather than conquering.  Tolerance for sin, a willingness to compromise truth and godly principles, and a desire to grow numerically though people are stunted spiritually, is commonplace in the mass of churches today.  In fact, if you insist on maintaining a standard of biblical holiness, you are effectively setting yourself up for ridicule.  We are all sinners and our righteousness is as filthy rags before God and yet Jesus still commanded us to "Strive to enter in at the strait (confined, narrow) gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able." (Luke 13:24). The Midnight Cry publication is produced by the Mississauga Gospel Assembly Church in Ontario, Canada. Our assembly is part of the Gospel Assembly International Fellowship with churches in North America, the Caribbean, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. We are a Pentecostal, Non-denominational assembly that believes in and proclaims a message of truth, holiness and godly lifestyle. Despite what is happening in the church world today, our Pastor, Desmond Singh, strives to deliver the truth in order to deal directly with the root problem we all face – sin. Not only the world, but Christianity at large, is asleep spiritually speaking. The distance between us and God is growing steadily in our day of modern idolatry, convenience and information. By God’s goodness, Brother Singh is speaking boldly about matters concerning this present, evil age and what we, as children of God, can do in order to develop a Christ-like spirit, godly lifestyle and maintain our faith despite the deception and temptations around us. Through Jesus Christ, God is working to save people. From what? This present age of sin, confusion, deception, hollow faith, materialism… Looking beyond this life, we live for a hope that one day, in the not too distant future, the Lord Jesus Christ will return to establish His Kingdom upon this earth. (Rev. 21:1-4). Until then, we are charged to preach and walk in truth as God gives us the ability. We sincerely invite you to join with us in worshipping the Lord in spirit and in truth.
