Yes, this world as we know is going to pass away or perish. In fact, the signs of the times and scripture seem to point to the not too distant future.

Many of us have heard the Lord Jesus referred to as a the Lamb of God, and this is true, primarily because He willingly laid His life down for the sin of mankind. But when He returns to this earth in order to establish His everlasting kingdom, He will come as the Lion of the tribe of Judah (Isaiah 63:1-6, Revelation 19:11-16). His return is marked by Armageddon as the world we know now prepares to give birth to the world which is to come.

Scripture clearly bares out the fact that the Kingdom of God has not yet been established upon the earth and neither will the church somehow usher the Kingdom into this present world.  Rather, it is the resurrection of the dead and the return of Jesus Christ to the earth, and that fact alone, on which the hope of every believer shall rest.

We are living in a time where it is required that disciples make a conscious decision as to what side of the line they stand on. As Elijah boldly declared, "If God be God, then serve Him."

The most foolish thing a man or woman can do is build their life, complete with focus, hopes and desires, upon this earth. In the end it will be destroyed. To live for this world as we know it is to put all your trust in a sinking ship in the middle of the Pacific or build a house on a frozen pond.

When the Kingdom of God is established, there will be divine justice in the way the kingdom is ruled. There will be no oppression and no persecution. We learn that Jesus will rule with righteousness.

Death will no longer exist, nature will be restored as it was originally intended, and peace, security and the worship of the living God will continue throughout all eternity.

Look at your life now and try to imagine a life of no fear, no stress or worry about retirement, safety, bills, death, disease… Imagine a life where there is no separation between you and God – the only true and lasting source of peace…

In relation to the Kingdom of God that is to be established shortly, this present life only spans that out of a fruit fly in terms of duration. Truly, he is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep, to gain that which he cannot lose.

“…While we look not at the things which are seen, but the things that are not seen: for the things that are seen are temporal: but the things that are not seen are eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:18)
